WISCASSET — A 14-year-old Wiscasset High School student is facing drug trafficking charges after he was caught in school with an assortment of nine different prescription medications for sale, police say.
The drugs, including Oxycontin and Vicodin, were in plastic bags stuffed inside a Pringles can in the boy’s backpack.
Police say the bags contained a total of 163 pills and had suggested prices written on them, from $3 to $25 per pill.
Police say school staff was tipped off by the boy’s father, who said his son may have stolen the medications from a family member.
The boy’s backpack was searched on school grounds.
The boy is scheduled to be arraigned April 28.
