A Portland man was arrested Sunday night following a low-speed chase through the city’s Parkside neighborhood that lasted no more than 30 seconds, according to Portland police.
Sgt. Ben Noyes said Paul Moreau, 46, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence, leaving the scene of an accident, driving to endanger, failure to stop for a police officer, and violating conditions of his release. Moreau was being held Sunday night at the Cumberland County Jail.
Noyes said Officer Brent Abbott witnessed Moreau’s vehicle strike a parked car near State Street and Cumberland Avenue around 5:15 p.m. When Abbott activated his blue lights to pull him over, Moreau drove away.
The chase ended at Deering and Avon streets after Moreau’s Nissan 300ZX struck a curb, causing a flat tire. No injuries were reported.
