MANCHESTER, N.H. — The school board in New Hampshire’s largest city is telling teachers to spruce up their attire.
The Manchester school committee has voted to enact a dress code for teachers that bans jeans, shorts, flip-flops and some sneakers.
According to the New Hampshire Union Leader, Superintendent Tom Brennan proposed a dress code requiring teachers and staff to dress professionally to present a good image for the district and to serve as a good influence on students.
The board then voted 11-1 in favor of the code, which bans 15 clothing items, including some T-shirts, Spandex and short skirts.
