Morgan Bolduc, Thornton Academy, junior midfielder: An all-Southwestern Maine Activities Association first-team selection, Bolduc scored 53 goals and added 30 assists to help Thornton Academy win eight games. Bolduc also had 86 draw controls and 20 takeaways as a strong two-way player.

 

 

Jesse Connors, Waynflete, senior midfielder: Despite breaking her ankle in a midseason game, Connors was named to the Western Maine Conference all-conference team. Averaging four goals per game, Connors had 24 goals and 15 assists. She’ll continue he career at Dominican University of California.

 

 

Katelyn D’Appolonia, Yarmouth, senior midfielder: After recovering from a shoulder injury suffered during basketball season, D’Appolonia was a first-team all-Western Maine Conference selection and helped the Clippers reach the Class A state final, a year after winning the Class B championship. D’Appolonia scored 58 goals and had 24 assists, with 76 draw controls and 24 ground balls. She will continue her career at the University of Colorado.

 

 

Carley Ferentz, Greely, senior attack: The lone senior on the Rangers, Ferentz had 48 goals and 27 assists to help Greely win its first Class B state title. She scored a pair of goals in the state final, and led Greely with 24 caused turnovers and 36 ground balls this season while providing leadership to a young team. An all-Western Maine Conference selection, Ferentz will attend Colgate University.

 

 

Sloane Ginevan, Falmouth, junior midfielder: A first-team all-Southwestern Maine Activities Association choice, Ginevan made her mark for the Navigators in just nine games before a season-ending ACL tear. She scored 31 goals and dished eight assists, along with 22 ground balls, 12 caused turnovers, and 35 draw controls. Ginevan has committed early to Notre Dame.

 

 

Miranda Godek, Kennebunk, sophomore defender: A strong crease defender, Godek was the leader of a defensive unit that surrendered just 67 goals in 16 games while winning the Class A state title for a second straight season. Godek was a key player in the Rams’ transition game, turning defense into offense.

 

 

Lizzy Hayes, Kennebunk, junior goalie: Hayes was outstanding for the Rams all season, and along with senior goalie Lily Hansen was a big reason why undefeated Kennebunk allowed only four goals per game. Hayes made six saves in the 14-4 Class A South final win over Massabesic, and six saves in the first half of the Rams’ 11-8 victory over Yarmouth in the state final.

 

 

Maggie Holt, North Yarmouth Academy, senior attack: Holt scored 52 goals and had 25 assists in leading the Panthers to the Class C state title – NYA’s first championship since 2012. An all-Western Maine Conference player, Holt had four goals and three assists in the 12-11 win over Wells in the state final. She plans to attend Western New England University, where she’ll play hockey and possibly lacrosse.

 

 

Emily Jacobs, Massabesic, senior midfielder: One of the top scorers in the state, Jacobs scored more than 50 goals this season, including six in a Class A South semifinal win over Scarborough, to help lead the Mustangs to the regional final. An all-Southwestern Maine Activities Association selection, Jacobs and her sister, Micaela, plan to play lacrosse at the University of New England.

 

 

Riley O’Mara, Cheverus, senior attack: An all-Southwestern Maine Activities Association player, O’Mara was an offensive force, scoring 74 goals this season and 124 over the last two seasons. O’Mara also had 86 draw controls. She plans on playing at Bryant University.

 

 

Rose Pavuk, York, senior midfielder: An all-Western Maine Conference selection, Pavuk was one of the state’s leading scorers and the top offensive threat for a team that reached the Class B state championship game for the first time. She scored 71 goals and added 34 assists. Pavuk and her sister, Clara, will continue playing lacrosse together at the University of New Hampshire.

 

 

Ruby Sliwkowski, Kennebunk, junior midfielder: An all-American and the Varsity Maine Girls’ Lacrosse Player of the Year, Sliwkowski scored 85 goals and assisted on 23 others, helping Kennebunk to a second straight undefeated Class A championship season. Sliwkowski also had 64 draw controls and 33 ground balls. In two seasons, she has 137 goals and 59 assists. Sliwkowski has committed to play at Brown University.

 

 

COACH OF THE YEAR

Becca Koelker, Greely: With Carley Ferentz the lone senior on the roster, Koelker coached her young team to the Class B state championship – the first in Greely girls’ lacrosse history. The Rangers went 13-2, with one loss coming to Class A finalist Yarmouth and the other against Class B finalist York in the season opener. The Rangers went on to beat York twice, including a 13-7 victory in the state championship game.
