SEPT. 24: Muslim pilgrims walk on roads as they head to cast stones at pillars symbolizing Satan during the annual hajj pilgrimage in Mina on the first day of Eid al-Adha, near the holy city of Mecca. On Thursday, Saudi authorities say at least 719 people were killed and 863 injured in when the pilgrims stampeded in the deadliest hajj incident in a quarter of a century. One survivor said people toppled "like dominoes" before being trampled or suffocated.
