South Portland firefighters responded to a fire on a boat moored at a dock at South Port Marine Tuesday morning.

The fire was reported as inside the motor yacht’s cabin, but was not considered a major threat to the vessel. The fire apparently started when some clothing was left too close to an incandescent bulb and started to smolder, fire officials said.

Two fire engines that had responded were diverted to Ocean Street where a tractor-trailer took down some wires in an unrelated incident, authorities said.

The incidents were reported at about 10:30 a.m.
