Please reinstate “Doonesbury”!
I always saved it as the last thing I read in the paper each day. It was my reward for getting caught up on all the news.
I assure you that its political views are very different from mine, but I never took offense. It was too skillfully done.
The caliber of that strip carried weight and reflected well on the Portland Press Herald. Its omission creates a void.
