A man was arrested at a home in Clinton Thursday morning shortly after he fled from police who were investigating a domestic violence complaint.
Michael Savage, 31, fled as Maine state troopers responding to the complaint fended off a woman who tried to assault them with a baseball bat, according to a statement from Steve McCausland, spokesman for the state Department of Safety. Savage was captured at about 11:30 a.m. when he returned to the home.
The woman also was arrested, and charged with attempted assault, McCausland said.
Before he Savage was caught, troopers had been searching the area with aircraft and dog tracking teams, McCausland said.
