Andrew Slattery watches and watches … and watches some more Wednesday, and the wait was worth it. Slattery’s putt on the 16th green fell for a birdie and when the second round of the Maine Amateur was complete, he held a one-shot lead at The Woodlands.
Matt Greenleaf of Portland, missing a birdie chip before settling for par on the 16th, finished with a 73 in the second round and is one shot off the lead heading into the final round.
