Creativity counted more than speed in the annual Cardboard Box Race at Saddleback Mountain in Rangeley on Saturday.
This year’s science fiction theme inspired sled designers to expand their horizons, and big gusts of wind added to the challenge of making it down the slope in a sled made of cardboard and duct tape.
With youth, adult, individual and group categories, the race attracted 115 participants in 48 cardboard sleds.
