PORTLAND – Police have identified the two women found dead Monday in an apartment and said an autopsy failed to determine a cause of death.
The women were 61-year-old twins, said Lt. Gary Rogers of the Portland Police Department.
He identified them as Linda Salliotte and Judith Fuller. They were found in Salliotte’s apartment at Longfellow Commons at 206 State St., and Rogers said they had been staying together a short time because of work being done on Fuller’s apartment in the same building.
Rogers said there were no signs of foul play or suicide. A toxicology report will be done, he said, and those generally take weeks to complete.
The women apparently died over the weekend, Rogers said, and were found by a maintenance worker checking on their well-being since they hadn’t been seen for a few days.
