WATERBORO — A Waterboro man has been charged with the Class C crime of terrorizing after he allegedly threatened employees at a Subway restaurant on Sokokis Trail.

Major William L. King Jr. said deputies from the York County Sheriff’s Department arrested 23-year-old Kenneth Briggs Jr. late Sunday night.

Deputies initially responded to complaints of Briggs causing a disturbance at his home, but he was not there when deputies arrived.

Later in the evening, deputies were called to the restaurant by workers, who said Briggs threatened to kill them.

The employees secured themselves in a bathroom and called police. Briggs was arrested a short distance away.

He is being held at the York County Jail on $1,000 cash bail.
