NORTH BERWICK – Joey DiBiase ran for four touchdowns Friday night to lead South Portland to a 36-7 victory against Noble in a Western Class A football game.

Brendan Horton kicked a 34-yard field goal in the first quarter to get the Red Riots started. DiBiase pounded in the next three scores from short yardage for a 23-0 lead after three quarters.

In the fourth, Dan Medici caught a 26-yard TD pass and DiBiase ran in his fourth touchdown as South Portland (4-1) pushed its lead to 36-0.

The Knights (0-5) avoided the shutout with a late 80-yard touchdown run by Derek Shute. Jake Guimond added the extra-point kick.

Logan Gaddar had interceptions in the third and fourth quarter for the Red Riots, both setting up touchdowns.

Gaddar finished with three interceptions, and Max Porter and Joey Zelasko had sacks.

South Portland quarterback Michael Salvatore passed for 84 yards and one touchdown to Medici, who had 41 yards on three catches. DiBiase finished with 97 yards rushing.

SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 26, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 12: Bill Calden rushed for three scores to lead the Phoenix (2-3) over the Patriots (0-5) at Gray.

Brandon LaPointe added a rushing touchdown for Spruce Mountain, which led 13-6 at halftime, then 19-6 after three quarters.

Josh Greenleaf had a pair of scores and totaled 107 yards rushing for Gray-New Gloucester.

FALMOUTH 46, LAKE REGION 14: Matt Kingry threw for three touchdowns and passed for another for the Yachtsmen (4-1), who took a 46-0 lead against the Lakers (0-5) at Naples.

Jack Cooleen caught two touchdown passes, Chris Leete and Michael Ryan added rushing touchdowns, and Ryan MacDonald had a 10-yard fumble return for a score for Falmouth.

Cody Gibbons ran 82 yards and Kamen Scott went 3 yards for Lake Region’s touchdowns.

MASSABESIC 21, KENNEBUNK 0: Sam Chaves and Jake Desrochers scored rushing touchdowns less than three minutes apart as Massabesic (4-1) broke a scoreless tie and opened a 14-0 lead in the third quarter against the Rams (1-4) at Kennebunk.

Chaves capped the Mustangs’ first drive of the second half with a 4-yard touchdown run. Desrochers scored on a 20-yard bootleg following a Ram fumble.

Chaves added a 65-yard scoring run in the fourth.

Larson Coppinger had two interceptions and Nick Doyon made nine tackles for Kennebunk.

MT. BLUE 63, OCEANSIDE 6: Jordan Whitney racked up 150 yards passing and four touchdowns on 4-of-5 passing to lead the Cougars (5-0) over the Mariners (2-3) at Rockland.

Whitney opened the scoring, hitting Izaiha Tracy for an 83-yard touchdown early in the first period. Later that quarter he found Nick Hilton twice for TDs, Tracy returned a punt 45 yards for a score, and Chris Malone added a 20-yard touchdown run for a 35-0 lead.

Mt. Blue added 20 points in the second quarter for a 55-0 halftime lead behind rushing touchdowns by Zak Kendall, Chad Luker and Andrew Pratt.

Brandon Dudley had a third-quarter touchdown for the Cougars before Dan Hendricks scored for Oceanside on a 1-yard run late in the fourth. Mt. Blue totaled 233 yards on 39 carries.

BONNY EAGLE 49, BIDDEFORD 0: Tyson Goodale ran for three touchdowns and threw for a fourth as Bonny Eagle (2-3) beat the Tigers (0-5) at Biddeford.

Goodale finished with 188 yards rushing on nine carries. He also completed 8 of 12 passes for 88 yards and had a 2-point conversion pass to Matt Burnell.

The Scots led 30-0 in the third quarter when Burnell added a 79-yard punt return. He finished with two touchdowns, and running back Nick Adkins and backup quarterback Harrison Loring scored one each.

Burnell, Adkins, Goodale and linebacker Andy Martel had interceptions for Bonny Eagle.

Nick Wayne finished with 81 yards rushing and Adkins had 79 for the Scots.
