SACO – Ashley Howe and Olivia Shaw scored 12 points apiece to lead Thornton Academy to a 34-21 win over Biddeford Monday night in an SMAA girls’ basketball game.

Thornton (8-5) raced to a nine-point first quarter lead and outscored Biddeford 14-2 in the third quarter to put the game out of reach.

Carissa Gelinas scored 17 points, including three 3-pointers, to pace the Tigers (4-9).


SANFORD 35, MARSHWOOD 28: Heather LeBlanc totaled 13 points as the Spartans (10-3) rallied past the Hawks (5-8) at South Berwick.

Morgan Fogg added eight points, including six in the fourth quarter when Sanford outscored Marshwood 19-7.

Megan McLean paced Marshwood with 10 points.


WINDHAM 39, WESTBROOK 38: Sadie Nelson scored 13 points and the Eagles (7-6) held off the Blue Blazes (0-12) at Windham.

Paige Baldwin and Chelsea Rairdon scored 10 each for Westbrook.


SOUTH PORTLAND 46, BONNY EAGLE 29: Madeline Hasson and Brianne Maloney scored 11 points each to lift the Red Riots (11-2) over the Scots (4-9) at South Portland.


GORHAM 57, NOBLE 32: Kristen Ross poured in 20 points and Jessica Rexrode put in 17 as the Rams (8-5) beat the Knights (1-12) at Gorham.

Amber Kelley made four 3-pointers and finished with 16 points for Noble.


LAKE REGION 62, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 30: CeCe Hancock scored seven of her nine points during the first half, helping Lake Region (11-2) open a 30-13 lead over the Raiders (3-10) in Fryeburg.

Skye Dole scored 13 points for Fryeburg.


OLD ORCHARD BEACH 49, KENTS HILLS 46: Anna Foss made a pair of foul shots to extend the lead to three points with 12 seconds left in overtime, then blocked a shot by the Huskies (2-6) as the Seagulls (9-4) held on for a win at Old Orchard Beach.

TRAIP ACADEMY 61, GREATER PORTLAND CHRISTIAN 27: Alli Barrett scored 18 of her 20 points in the first half as the Rangers (4-8) raced to a 40-17 halftime lead and cruised to a win over the Lions (7-2) at Kittery.

Elaine Beech and Clarissa Jones led the Lions with eight points apiece.


LAWRENCE 63, BRUNSWICK 52: Dominique Lewis went 8 for 8 from the foul line and Nia Irving scored 11 of her 24 points in the fourth quarter as the Bulldogs (9-4) beat the Dragons (2-11) at Brunswick.

Lewis finished with 17 points.

Julia Champagne scored 14 points for Brunswick.


YORK 4, FALMOUTH 2: Rachel Yorke scored twice in the third period to help the Wildcats (11-3-1) hold off the Yachtsmen (11-5) at Dover, N.H.

Camden Carrier and Gabby St. Angelo scored third-period goals for Falmouth.


WINSLOW 1, PORTLAND/DEERING 1: Paige Veilleux scored in the second period as the Black Raiders (3-9-3) earned a tie with the Bulldogs (2-11-2).

Drew Barry scored an unassisted goal in the first period and Leanne Reichert had 23 saves for Portland/Deering.


BIDDEFORD 5, CAPE ELIZABETH/WAYNFLETE 0: Tiffany Gagne scored twice as the Tigers (9-6-1) beat the Capers (3-8-3) at Portland Ice Arena.


SCARBOROUGH 5, GORHAM/BONNY EAGLE 0: Alyssa Hulst scored two goals and assisted on another as the Red Storm (12-1-1) blanked Gorham/Bonny Eagle (6-8) at USM.

Sarah Martens and Rachel Wallace each added a goal and an assist, and Devan Kane made 17 saves to record the shutout.

Gorham/Bonny Eagle goalie Madeline Hamblen finished with 24 saves.


YARMOUTH/FREEPORT 5, ST. DOMINIC 4: Ariel Potter scored her third goal of the game on an assist from Kate Brown just over one minute into overtime to lift Yarmouth/Freeport (5-9-1) to a win over the Saints (6-9) at Yarmouth.

Brown finished with a goal and two assists. Emily Johnson also scored for Yarmouth/Freeport.

The Saints rallied from a 4-2 deficit on goals by Tia Rotolico and Jessica Boulet in the final 5:27 of regulation. St. Dom’s also got two goals from Kayla McLellan.
