Outlook: The Seahawks have 44 players, which represents a pick up, but the team is young. The team should be more competitive in Class D. There’s a good freshman class so the program could bounce back quickly.

Lisbon

Coach: Dick Mynahan, 27th year

Last year: 4-5, lost in Western Class C quarterfinals

Returning starters: 9

Impact players: Quincy Thompson, sr., RB/DB; Kyle Bourget, jr., QB; Joe Philbrick, jr., FB/LB; Jordan Torres, jr., RB

Outlook: Lisbon is led by Quincy Thompson, who rushed for over 1,000 yards last season. Along with his running, he is a pass catching threat as well. Bourget passed for 500 yards as a sophomore. Philbrick is a solid blocker at FB. Torres has breakaway speed. The offensive line is new and a work in progress. If the line comes along, Lisbon could go deep into the playoffs

 

Old Orchard Beach

Coach: Dean Plante, 12th year

Last year: 6-3, lost in Western Class C quarterfinals

Returning starters: 16

Impact players: Joe Gildard, sr., RB/DB; Tyler Scott, sr., WR/DB; Brendan Harlan, sr., RB/DB; Bryan Roberts, jr., QB/LB; Connor Leask, sr., OL/DE; Chandler Leask, sr., OL/DT; Zach Seamans, sr., WR/DE; Hunter Boutot, jr., FB/LB; Andrew Graves, jr., RB/LB

Outlook: The Sea Gulls have one of the top ballcarriers in Class D in Gildard, who scored 11 touchdowns and gained 850 yards. Roberts is a pass-run threat at QB. The team has other running options with Harlan, Graves and Boutot.

 

 

Sacopee Valley

Coach: Chuck Hamaty, fourth year

Impact players: Zach Barrows, sr., QB/LB; Sawyer Cote, sr., OL/DL; Isaac Moore, sr., RB/LB; Seth Clark, sr., TE/DL; Ethan Pierce, sr., OL/DL; Kevin Kirk, sr., OL/DL; Kevin Kirk, sr., OL/DL; Matt Rivard, sr., OL/DL

Outlook: The Hawks are hoping that the trials and tribulations the seniors faced over the last few seasons will translate into a victory or two this season. Low numbers will hurt again, but the team will try to get a win.

Last year: 8-2, lost in Western Class C semifinals

Returning starters: 8

Impact players: Chris Czachor, sr., QB/DB; Nick Ovington, sr., OG/DE; Nate Henderson, jr., RB/LB; Matthew Graham, sr., FB/LB; Tucker Gray, jr., OG/NT

Outlook: The Rangers are looking to rebuild after graduating 12 seniors from a playoff team. The team is young but talented, particularly in the freshman class. Czachor is one of the top QBs in Western Maine. He passed for 1,200 yards and nine touchdowns.
