The parents of Nichole Cable, the 15-year-old Glenburn girl who was slain in May, allegedly by a man she met on Facebook, will appear Thursday as a guest on “Dr. Phil,” a network talk show that airs on ABC.

According to Dr. Phil’s website, Jason and Kristine Wiley will discuss the circumstances that led to their daughter’s death in hopes of preventing other teenagers from making dangerous choices online.

Jason Wiley is Cable’s stepfather. The couple live in Glenburn.

The suspect in her murder, 20-year-old Kyle Dube of Orono, has been arrested. In June, Dube pleaded not guilty to one count of kidnapping and one count of murder.

Dr. Phil McGraw has hosted the talk show since 2002. He uses the show as a platform for exploring social issues such as bullying, drug abuse, domestic violence, depression, suicide and child abuse.
