So Portland’s school superintendent wants to raise property taxes again?
Really? The city is being run on the backs of the working people, the elderly, the disabled. First the circuit-breaker program is taken away by the governor. Then our property taxes are raised again.
I’m tired of listening to “The city needs to give money to this program and give to everyone else,” but never one word about helping the burden on people’s backs. The utility goes up, the heating goes up, the food goes up.
The city can start thinking about the people who pay their bills – the working, the elderly and the disabled.
Will I vote to add to my property taxes? No! I hope other people will stand up and say, “No, find other ways to get money.” We all aren’t bringing in big salaries.
