A recent $2,000 donation from SIS Bank to the Sanford-Springvale Historical Society will help fund renovations to the Edmund E. Goodwin home on Main Street in Springvale.

The Goodwin home, next to the Sanford-Springvale Historical Museum, is owned and operated by the historical society.

The bank’s donation will help cover the costs of the installation of an alarm system, restoration of the ground floor rooms and modifications on the second floor for storage and cataloguing space.

While the second floor of the home will be used for storage, the first floor of the house will be preserved for viewing.

The historical society purchased the Goodwin home in June. The Queen Anne-style house has already undergone extensive renovations.
