ALNA – The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the circumstances behind the death of an Alna woman, and the injuries suffered by an Alna man, who were participants in a Saturday morning incident involving weapons.

Lt. Michael Murphy said that deputies were called to a home on West Alna Road around 7:17 a.m. and found 23-year-old Laura Ezzell-Travis deceased.

Another person in the home, 22-year-old A.J. Lang, had sustained a head wound. Lang was transported to Maine Medical Center, where he was listed in serious, but stable condition.

Investigators determined that Ezzell-Travis died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. The head wound sustained by Lang was determined to be accidental.
