An Acton man was arrested Saturday night after a York County sheriff’s deputy responding to a domestic assault report found a woman bleeding profusely from her nose in her driveway.

Keith Dubois, 41, was charged with aggravated domestic violence assault, a felony, and violating conditions of release for a previous firearms arrest, Sheriff William L. King Jr. said in a news release.

The incident occurred about 9 p.m. Saturday in the 200 block of Milton Mills Road in Acton.

When Deputy Corey Sweatt found the victim in her vehicle, she was bleeding and her forehead was swollen, King said.

After talking with the victim, Sweatt was confronted by Dubois, who was holding a knife and ordered the deputy off his property, the sheriff said.

Another deputy joined Sweatt, and Dubois was taken into custody without incident.

The victim was transported to Southern Maine Health Care for a possible broken nose and to check on the swelling of her head, King said. She was treated and released from the hospital.

Dubois was being held Sunday night at the York County Jail in Alfred on $2,000 bail. He is scheduled to make his initial court appearance at 1 p.m. Monday in Springvale District Court.
