Four of Portland’s eight state representatives have endorsed Mayor Michael Brennan in his bid for re-election on Nov. 3.

Reps. Richard Farnsworth, Denise Harlow, Peter Stuckey and Erik Jorgensen, all Democrats, announced their support Tuesday, and were joined by Rep. Drew Gattine of Westbrook.

Brennan said the endorsements reflect his close partnership with the delegation in bringing jobs and economic development to the city, obtaining funds to redevelop Hall School and increasing homestead property tax relief for residents.

In separate statements, the legislators praised Brennan for bringing unified leadership to the city and for collaborating with the delegation to represent Portland’s interests at the State House.

The Maine House members join Maine Senate Democratic Leader Justin Alfond, who had already endorsed Brennan.

Portland’s other state senator, Anne Haskell, has endorsed mayoral challenger Ethan Strimling, who is a former state senator.

In addition to Brennan and Strimling, Green Independent Party leader Thomas MacMillan also is running for mayor.
