As a descendant of Harriet Beecher Stowe, who wrote part of “Uncle Tom’s Cabin” in Brunswick, I’m confident she would be horrified that Sen. Susan Collins is promoting Jeff Sessions’ confirmation as attorney general.
Given his long history of racism, I simply don’t understand how Sen. Collins is unable to see through his “nice guy” image. I hope she reconsiders her position because if not, she can forget ever again being compared positively to Margaret Chase Smith.
