The percussion troupe Stomp will return to Portland on May 15-16 for performances at Merrill Auditorium.
Tickets will go on sale Friday, according to show promoter Portland Ovations. Tickets range from $40 to $55 for members of Portland Ovations, and $45 to $60 for the general public. They will be available through PortTix, the Merrill box office.
Both shows begin at 7 p.m.
Stomp was last in Portland during Portland Ovations' 2008-2009 season. On its current tour, Stomp has added four new pieces.
The performers "make a rhythm out of anything we can get our hands on that makes a sound," co-founder/director Luke Cresswell said in a press release. Household and industrial objects find new life as musical instruments in the hands of these percussionists.
