School Notes

Catherine McAuley High School, Portland: has awarded the four year, full-tuition Academic Excellence Scholarship to Brianna Heisler, daughter of Mark and Linda Heisler of Gray. Carolyn Liziewski, daughter of Daniel and Sarah Liziewski of Gray, was awarded the Academic Scholarship, receiving half tuition for the four years she attends McAuley.


Deering High School, Portland: three students have been named candidates for the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program. They are Jean McCabe, Keleigh O'Neil and Brian Pedro. Of the 3,000 candidates chosen nationally, up to 141 will be selected for the program.


Portland schools: three students have been named finalists in the National Merit Scholarship Program. They are: Jean McCabe and Nicholas Devlin from Deering High School and Maggie Eismeier from Casco Bay High School.
