Full Moon Outing / 6 p.m., Biddeford
Join the Eastern Trail Alliance for a full-moon ski, snowshoe or walk along the Eastern Trail. Meet at the ET entrance at the rear of the Southern Maine Medical Center parking lot in Biddeford. Bring snowshoes or Nordic skis. The group will head toward Arundel under the full moon without artificial illumination in hopes of observing nocturnal creatures. Woodchucks of Gilsland Farm / 7 p.m., Falmouth
Maine Audubon is hosting a free talk on woodchucks by Dr. Chris Maher, who will summarize what she's learned about social organization in the population of these creatures at Gilsland Farm, including the effects of kinship and personality on their behavior. The Work of Farms / March 3 at 2 p.m., Boothbay Harbor
The Boothbay Region Land Trust is offering a seminar on the work of a program called FARMS, Focus on Agriculture in Rural Maine Schools. The local nonprofit connects classrooms, cafeterias, local farms and communities. FARMS' mission is to educate students about good nutrition and the role of local farms in promoting healthy, sustainable communities, and to promote and facilitate farm-to-institution purchasing. Outdoor Film Festival / March 9, 7 p.m., Windham
Teens To Trails is hosting the Maine Outdoor Film Festival to benefit teen Outing Club programs. The films will be shown March 9 at Windham High and May 4 at Cony High in Augusta. Both films start at 7 p.m. Teens To Trails is partnering with No Umbrella Media and Three Rivers Whitewater to bring the festival to high school around the state and inspire teens to get active outdoors. Open to the public, the festival features the outdoor films "Turning Tail," "For Those Who Love Padders," "Suncook River Canoe Shop," "D-Rail," "Mainely Boating," "One Day at a Time," "Moments from Hogback" and "Hardwater."
