Avery Garrison, 7, of Scarborough received a bracelet from former First Lady Barbara Bush when she was a patient at the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital. Avery clutches the bracelet, which was given to Mrs. Bush by the families of the Sandy Hook Community. The green bead respresents each child and the white beads represent the teachers whose lives were lost. The bracelet served as a symbol of hope and inspiration to Avery as she has encountered a number of health challenges since birth.
