The swim teams from Massabesic and Scarborough High met Friday in a dual meet at the Sanford YMCA pool. The Scarborough girls won, 109-53, while the Massabesic boys scratched out an 86-84 win to improve to 7-0.

The boys meet came down to the final event, the 400-yard freestyle relay. Massabesic teams took first and second place, capturing 12 of the 14 points awarded in the event. Sam LaRiviere, Jake Staples, Collin Hart and Tyler Wright made up the winning team for the Mustangs, finishing in 3:41.87. Tylar Braunschweig, Frank Gilcreast, Chris Giordano and Devin Chamberlain were on the second-place squad, which finished in 3:54.66, holding off Scarborough by less than two seconds.

Winners for the Mustang boys included LaRiviere in the 200 IM (2:16.64), and Wright in the 100 butterfly (58.19) and the 500 freestyle (5:31.10).

The Scarborough boys won seven events. The Red Storm got wins from the 200 medley relay team of Nicholas Twomey, Craig Delisle, Thomas Spencer and Mark Endrizzi (1:49.26), and the 200 freestyle relay team of Spencer, Twomey, Jack Clark and Endrizzi (1:37.93).

Twomey also won the 200 freestyle (1:58.22) and the 100 backstroke (58.08). Endrizzi won the 50 freestyle (24.12) and the 100 freestyle (54.16). Delisle took the 100 breaststroke (1:09.46).

The Scarborough girls won all three relays and 10 of the 11 events. Dayna Ankermann, Samantha Couillard, Christine Beecher and Alison Reynolds teamed up to win the 200 medley relay in 2:03.56. Reynolds, Julie Passarelli, Anna Wagner and Maya Glab made up the victorious 200 freestyle relay team (2:00.79). Beecher, Glab, Ankermann and Couillard took home the 400 freestyle relay in 4:14.10.

Reynolds won the 200 freestyle (2:21.81) and the 100 freestyle (1:04.00). Beecher placed first in the 200 IM (2:21.16) and the 500 freestyle (5:40.47). Couillard was fastest in the 100 butterfly (1:10.35) and the 100 breaststroke (1:12.97). Ankermann got the win in the 100 backstroke (1:09.72).

Jaime Schwarz-McLain won the 50 freestyle (29.11) for Massabesic.
