The Portland Sea Dogs got their first off day of the season Monday when their series opener against the Binghamton Mets was postponed because of rain in Binghamton, N.Y.
The teams will try again tonight at NYSEG Stadium, and the shortened series concludes Wednesday. The rained-out game was rescheduled as part of a doubleheader on July 2, beginning at 5:35 p.m.
Portland is 7-4 on the road this season after taking three of four against the Trenton Thunder. Lars Anderson hit his fifth home run of the season and drove in four runs Sunday in a 9-5 win. The Sea Dogs had a season-high 15 hits, including four by Juan Apodaca. Ray Chang extended his hitting streak to seven games.
