FREEPORT — Thelma Estabrook Sommers, 83, died in Portland July 29 with her family at her side.  

On June 22, 1927, she was born in Calais, a daughter of Alvin T. Estabrook and Leonora M. Quinn Estabrook.

For 30 years she worked at L.L.Bean until she retired in 1990.  

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Brunswick, the Freeport Historical Society, past president of the Philathea Class of the Freeport Baptist Church and a former member of the Pythian Sisters.

She was predeceased by her husband, Robert E. Sommers, Sr.  

Surviving are her son, Robert E. Sommers, Jr. and his wife Diana of Jefferson; her grandchildren Samantha Sommers and her husband Scott Peach, Megan and Carle Facciolo; and her great-granddaughter Isabel Thelma Facciolo; her brother, Harold Estabrook and sister-in-law Sylvia, and her sister Barbara Wilson, and her sister-in-law Louise Estabrook; 10 nieces and nephews, Noreen, Steve, Patrick, Gary, Sharon, Susan, Carolyn, Tiffany, Kenny, Kathy; a large extended family and friends.

Memorial services were held last week.

Arrangements are by Lindquist Funeral Home, 1 Mayberry Lane, Yarmouth.
