PORTLAND – Haley Carignan scored twice and Tori Armishaw had a goal and an assist to lead the undefeated Scarborough girls’ soccer team to a 3-0 win over Deering on Wednesday. Armishaw scored in the first half and Carignan twice in the second for the Storm (11-0). Deering is 6-4.


GREATER PORTLAND CHRISTIAN 7, VALLEY 5: Elaine Beech scored five goals to lift Greater Portland Christian (3-4-1) over Valley (0-10) at Bingham. Liz Garland scored twice for the Lions.


WISCASSET 5, HALL-DALE 0: Tyler Sonia scored twice and Ashton Benn, John McLeod and Brian Campbell each added a goal as the Redskins (10-0-1) handled the Bulldogs (6-4) at Farmingdale.


GREELY 3, YARMOUTH 0: Maggie Bradley had eight kills and Sara Warnock had seven as the Rangers (8-3) beat the Clippers 25-15, 25-18, 25-9 in Cumberland.


The Fix Cup, an annual exhibition boys’ hockey tournament, was canceled due to the rules imposed last season by the Maine Principals’ Association that restrict the number of days on which teams can play exhibition games.
