CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. — Paul Carey scored two goals, including a first-period goal that stood after review, as Boston College defeated Maine 4-1 today at Conte Forum for a two-game sweep.

BC won Friday night, 4-0.

Carey scored goals in the first and second period. His first-period goal was a rebound that deflected off his skate and past goalie Dan Sullivan, and stood after officials reviewed the goal to see if the puck was directed in by a kicking motion.

Maine defenseman Mark Nemec tied the game at 1-1 at 12:56 on a shot from the right point through traffic, but the Eagles scored two goals in the final 1:32 of the second, tallies by Bill Arnold and Carey.

Barry Almeida added an empty-net goal for BC with 2:09 left in the game.

Sullivan made 19 saves for Maine (6-3-3, 4-2-1 Hockey East) while John Muse made 38 saves for Boston College (8-4-0, 6-3-0).
