BUXTON – Police say alcohol and speed were apparently factors in a head-on car accident that injured four people Wednesday night in Buxton.
Officers responded at approximately 9 p.m. to Narragansett Trail near Probably Auto for the report of an accident. Upon arrival, police and emergency medical responders found three people still trapped inside one of the vehicles, Buxton police Chief Michael Grovo said in a press release.
Through an investigation, police determined a pickup truck was heading east on Narragansett Trail when the male driver lost control, sliding across both lanes and striking a car traveling in the opposite direction head-on, Grovo said.
Buxton police and the York County Sheriff’s Office continue to investigate. Saco police provided accident reconstruction.
The names and conditions of those involved in the crash were not immediately available. Grovo said more information would be released throughout the day.
