LISBON — A 30-year-old Maine man is being held on $25,000 bail for allegedly stabbing his girlfriend and a man who came to her aid.
Lisbon Police Chief David T. Brooks says Leein Hinkley of Sabattus is charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault.
Authorities say Hinkley and the woman argued Sunday afternoon while driving through Lisbon. Hinkley allegedly stabbed the woman after she pulled into a driveway, and then stabbed a homeowner who came to her aid.
Hinkley allegedly drove away with a 13-month-old baby to his parents’ home in Sabattus, where police say he fled into woods with a shotgun.
Brooks says the State Police tactical squad was called but a crisis was averted when family members subdued Hinkley. Both stabbing victims were taken to a hospital.
