PORTLAND — An eight-member visiting team from the New England Association of Schools and Colleges has completed a four-day accreditation review of the University of Southern Maine.
The team arrived Sunday and met with students, faculty, staff members, advisory groups and trustees at the Portland, Gorham and Lewiston campuses, said Bob Caswell, university spokesman.
The team is expected to submit a recommendation to the association in early June on whether to continue the university’s accreditation.
The association will announce its decision this fall, Caswell said. The university was last reviewed 10 years ago, when it received full accreditation, he said.
