The Maine Red Claws will host the first of 13 summer basketball clinics for children of all ages from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday in Portland’s Monument Square.

The series will travel as far south as Kittery and as far north as Presque Isle during the months of July and August.

“We received overwhelming positive feedback from last year’s events and were blown away with the number of participants. This is a great way to bring a community together and get kids active,” said Jon Jennings, Red Claws president and general manager.
