Downeaster train service to Boston is expected to resume tonight despite an accident that killed one person in North Berwick on Monday.
Steve McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety, identified the truck driver, whose vehicle was hit by the train, as Peter Barnum, 35, of Farmington, N.H. Barnum works for Triumvirate Environmental Inc., a trucking company based in Massachusetts.
Patricia Quinn, Executive Director of the Northern New England Passenger Rail Authority, said the Downeaster is scheduled to depart Boston for Portland tonight at 11:20 p.m.
Regularly scheduled train service to Boston will resume Tuesday with trains departing from Portland at 5:45 a.m. and 8 a.m., Quinn said.
