GRAY — Most parts of Maine are looking at a second day of 90-degree heat.

Meteorologist Margaret Curtis from the National Weather Service says it hit 96 degrees Thursday in Portland, and it’s expected to hit the lower 90s on Friday. It’ll be nearly that hot on Saturday, as well.

Curtis says Thursday’s high fell three degrees shy of the all-time July high of 99 degrees.

Accounting for the humidity, it hit 104 degrees.

Curtis says things will cool down on Sunday after a cold front moves through, bringing the high down to 78 or 80.
