CAPE ELIZABETH — Organizers of Maine’s top running race are showcasing some of the state’s top runners who will be competing in the 6.2-mile TD Bank Beach to Beacon race.

Race founder and Olympic gold medalist Joan Benoit Samuelson and other race officials are meeting with reporters this morning to talk about Saturday’s race in Cape Elizabeth.

Race President David Weatherbie is introducing several Maine runners who are competing, including Sheri Piers, Kristin Barry, Erica Jesseman, Jon Wilson, Matt Rand and Josh Zola.

More than 6,000 runners will be competing in the race. Now in its 14th year, it draws elite runners from around the world, as well as recreational runners from around the region.
