YORK – Kyle Heath rushed for 141 yards on eight carries and scored on a 6-yard run in the fourth quarter Friday night as Westbrook pulled away to a 34-15 victory against York in a Western Class B football game.

Westbrook (2-4) led 22-7 when Magnes Lewis ended two consecutive drives by York (2-4) with interception returns for touchdowns in the final 3:15.

Terry Webber scored on a 1-yard run in the second quarter and Graham Strondak added a 21-yard touchdown run in the third for Westbrook.

SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 43, LAKE REGION 24: Bill Calvin ran for two touchdowns and Jake Bessey snagged two passes for touchdowns as Spruce Mountain (3-3) overshadowed Lake Region (0-6) at Jay.

Calvin finished with 145 yards on 11 carries.

Spruce Mountain led 13-0 after the first quarter on a 6-yard run by Calvin and a quarterback sneak by Zack Bonnevie.

Bonnevie hit Bessey with a 22-yard pass for the third touchdown in the second quarter and Calvin rumbled 54 yards for Spruce Mountain’s fourth.

The Lakers, meanwhile, scored twice and pushed across a 2-point conversions to trail 25-16. Spruce Mountain linebacker Nate Shink recovered a fumble and returned it 40 yards to stretch the lead to 31-16 at the break.

Bonnevie had five completions on six attempts for 56 yards. Bessey was his favorite target with three catches for 49 yards.

SANFORD 34, NOBLE 14: Alex Shain rushed for two touchdowns, including a 74-yard score, and finished with 252 yards on 17 carries as the Redskins (3-3) beat Noble (0-6) at Sanford.

Cody Mooney added 96 yards passing and a touchdown, and Jon Schroder ran for a touchdown and threw for another. Andrew Gregoire, a defensive lineman, added an interception.

FALMOUTH 42, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 12: Matt Kingry completed 10 of 18 passes for 146 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for a touchdown to lead the Yachtsmen (5-1) past the Raiders (2-4) at Falmouth.

Willy Sipperly rushed for 40 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 10 carries, and also caught a scoring pass for Falmouth.

Alex Derhagopian added a rushing touchdown and Jack Cooleen caught a touchdown pass for Falmouth.

Kingry and Aaron Rogers each had two interceptions for the Yachtsmen.

WINDHAM 28, MASSABESIC 8: Christian Coombs and Todd Allen each ran for a pair of touchdowns to carry Windham (4-3) over the Mustangs (4-3) at Waterboro.

Josh Dugas kicked all four PATs for Windham.

LAWRENCE 14, LEWISTON 0: Lawrence (6-0) overcame four turnovers by holding Lewiston (3-3) to 157 yards, including 46 in the second half, at Fairfield.

“It really wasn’t a pretty win but we’ll take it,” Lawrence Coach John Hersom said.

Lawrence scored its only offensive touchdown with 5:17 left in the first quarter on Shaun Carroll Jr.’s 3-yard run up the middle. Chad Martin’s extra point made it 7-0.

Josh Doolan returned a punt 40 yards for a touchdown with 9:47 left in the third quarter to give Lawrence a two-touchdown lead.

Jeff Turcotte of Lewiston gained 99 yards on 26 carries.
