SCARBOROUGH — A school bus driver having an unspecified medical problem ran into a parked car and a car wash building when he pulled off the road, police said.

The accident on U.S. 1 happened about 3:45 p.m. Friday, and there were no children on the bus, according to police.

They said the driver tried to get off the road by driving into the parking lot of the Sparkle Car Wash at 285 U.S. 1. They said the bus hit a parked car and then the building.

The driver was taken to Maine Medical Center and police said they didn’t know his condition or what kind of medical problem he had.

The bus sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene, police said. Damage to the building was cosmetic, and the car wash continued to operate, they said, but the parked car that was hit had to be towed away.

No one was injured.
