BATH — The American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Course is scheduled to provide up-to-date information on how to guard, anticipate and prevent problems, and take action to help those in danger.

This comprehensive education at the Bath Area Family YMCA is centered on preventing accidents in aquatic environments and includes all of the skills and knowledge required for the lifeguard candidate to be effective at swimming pools, lakefronts, beaches and water parks.

The minimum age is 15 and participants must pass a swim test.

The training will take place Feb. 20-24 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The fee is $ 275, which includes certification, books, and all prerequisites.
