BATH — The Hyde School jayvee boys basketball team played North Yarmouth Academy and Waynflete last week.

Against NYA, the Phoenix got off to a quick start, leading 8- 0 and holding NYA scoreless en route to a 33-11 halftime lead and 60-25 win.

Nine players scored for the Phoenix.

Against Waynflete in Portland, the Phoenix came out strong and took a quick sixpoint lead as Luis Allen had some strong finishes on offense. Kiefer Cundy and Zach Heatley kept the tempo up throughout the first half, and Wondo Shaw controlled the paint down low giving the Phoenix a six-point halftime lead.

However, Waynflete hit a few key free throws in the last two minutes of the game, sealing a 37-33 victory.

Hyde is 5-5 and scheduled to host Waynflete this afternoon at 4 p.m.
