GORHAM — Senior forward Jeremy Jackson scored a game- high 14 points and pulled down a team-high nine rebounds to lead the University of Southern Maine Huskies to a 56-44 win over the Colby College Mules in a non-conference men’s college basketball game Tuesday night at Hill Gymnasium.
The win is the second straight for USM, which improved to 9- 10. Colby dipped to 6-13.
Senior guard Chris Pagentine and junior guard Alex Kee of Bath added 13 and 11 points, respectively. Kee added seven rebounds, four assists and three steals without a turnover in 36 minutes of action.
Ben Foreman led Colby with 12 points.
Foreman pulled Colby to within 11, 52- 41, with 2: 22 remaining, but Kee shut the door on the game with a layup and a free throw on the Huskies’ next possession for a 55-41 lead with 2:06 to play.
USM travels to Keene State on Saturday.
