BRUNSWICK — The Mt. Ararat and Brunswick high school jayvee girls basketball teams concluded their seasons on Thursday with the Eagles prevailing over the Dragons, 50-33.

Olivia Swan led all scorers with 13 points for Mt. Ararat.

The Eagles pulled away from a close opening quarter, scoring 10 unanswered points to take an 18-10 advantage. Mt. Ararat extended its lead to 36-18 at halftime.

In the second half, the Eagles pulled off their press and the Dragons stepped up their effort defensively as the teams battled to a 4-2 third quarter advantage for Mt. Ararat. Brunswick closed out the final quarter with a 13-10 edge.

Swan led Mt. Araat with 13 points, while Lindsey Cornelison scored nine points for Mt. Ararat, while Kim Emerson and Allison Melcher added seven points each.

Brunswick was led offensively by Erica French with 12 points. Samiera McMullen added eight points and 12 rebounds for the Dragons.

Mt. Ararat was 14 of 24 at the line and Brunswick six of 11.
