SHELBY LYNNE will perform in concert at 8 p.m. Thursday at One Longfellow Square, 181 State St., Portland. “With her roots in Nashville, Lynne is a powerful songwriter with a voice and delivery that plays tough against vulnerable in the tradition of the greatest country, blues and soul singers,” a release about the show states. While still a teenager, she left her home in Alabama for Nashville. She worked with Nashville stalwarts Ralph Emory, songwriter Bob Tubert, and singer George Jones. After five albums, she adapted her Nashville sound to a more mainstream style.
