PORTLAND — Cheverus High has named assistant coach Dan Costigan as head boys’ basketball coach, replacing Bob Brown, who retired last week.

Costigan, a 1982 graduate of Cheverus where he was a standout multi-sport athlete, has been an assistant coach with the Stags since 2004. He teaches English at the school.

Costigan graduated from the Unviersity of Maine in 1985 and earned his master’s degree from the University of New England in 1996.
