Desiree Benner, Medomak Valley, junior pitcher: Went 14-2 last year to help the Panthers to the top seed in Eastern Class B. She averaged about nine strikeouts a game.

 

Erin Bogdanovich, South Portland, junior pitcher/first base: Excellent overall player. Went 4-0 with 1.12 ERA last year, and batted .385 with 29 runs and 13 stolen bases.

 

Janelle Bouchard, Kennebunk, senior catcher: A three-time all-state selection, she is regarded as the best catcher in the state. She hit .548 with seven home runs, 22 RBI and 24 runs last year.

Chelsea Burnell, Sacopee Valley, senior shortstop: Western Maine Conference Class C player of the year last year. She has hit over .400 with over 20 RBI each of the previous two years.

 

Shelby Bryant, McAuley, senior center fielder: A great defensive player who threw out three runners last year, she batted .526 with three home runs, 21 runs, 19 RBI and 11 stolen bases.

 

Sammy Crosman, Marshwood, junior third baseman: Batted .448 last year while also playing in the outfield and at catcher. Scored 13 runs and stole seven bases.

Heather Fecteau, Biddeford, senior infielder: A .300 hitter her entire career, she is versatile enough to play anywhere in the infield. And most likely will play wherever she’s needed most.

 

Julia Geaumont, Thornton Academy, senior pitcher: An outstanding pitcher and batter. She went 15-3 for the Trojans last year with 141 strikeouts. She also batted .554 with five home runs.

 

Erin Giles, Scarborough, junior third baseman/pitcher: Coming back from an injury last year, she still hit .319 with 19 runs scored. As a pitcher, she was 5-0 with a 0.49 ERA.

Mckenzie Gray, Yarmouth, junior pitcher: The lefty came in last year and helped the Clippers to a playoff berth, going 11-2. Not overpowering, she mixes her pitches well and has a good command of the strike zone.

 

Kennadi Grover, Oceanside, junior outfielder/infielder: A power hitter who can play multiple positions. She hit .591 last year with 26 RBI and 28 runs. Had 11 doubles and two home runs.

 

Caroline Hamilton, Greely, senior third baseman: A very slick fielding shortstop, she is a dangerous hitter as well. Hamilton hit .462 last year with 22 stolen bases and 24 runs scored.

Mo Hannan, Scarborough, senior pitcher/shortstop: A great pitcher, hitter and slick fielder. She went 10-1 with 0.18 ERA and 142 strikeouts for Class A champs. Also batted .564 with 32 runs scored.

 

Sarah Harriman, Fryeburg Academy, sophomore pitcher: She went 19-0 in leading the Raiders to the Class B state title, striking out 180 in 130 innings, with a 0.75 ERA. Also batted .400.

 

Heather LeBlanc, Sanford, junior catcher/outfielder: Shows good versatility in playing multiple positions. Batted .476 last year with 14 runs and 16 RBI.

Marquis MacGlashing, York, junior shortstop: A second-team all-Western Maine Conference pick last year, MacGlashing covers a lot of ground at her position and is a strong hitter.

 

Maddie Pearson, Fryeburg Academy, junior center fielder: An all-state selection, she can track down anything in the outfield. She also batted .391 with 23 runs and 21 RBI, along with 14 stolen bases.

 

Emily Schatz, Massabesic, senior shortstop: Great range and a strong arm make her one of the state’s top defensive infielders. She hit .327 last year in helping the Mustangs to the playoffs.

Sarah Steele, Camden Hills, senior first baseman: The Windjammers’ cleanup hitter, Steele batted .357 last year. She is also a strong defensive player.

 

Alex Thompson, Gray-New Gloucester, junior second baseman: A second-team all-Western Maine Conference pick last year, Thompson is a steady fielder and will hit in the middle of the order.

 

Gabby Townsend, Massabesic, junior pitcher: She transferred from McAuley and will help the Mustangs tremendously. She went 7-1 with a 1.72 ERA and 81 strikeouts in 57 innings.

Katelyn Tucker, Windham, sophomore infielder/pitcher: Led the Eagles with a .462 batting average last year. A second-team SMAA all-star selection.

 

Rachael Webster, Gorham, senior outfielder: Led the Rams with a .346 batting average last year. Complements hitting with strong defensive play.

 

Alyssa Williamson, Scarborough, sophomore first base/pitcher: An all-state outfielder last year as a freshman, she batted .412 with seven home runs and a school-record 35 RBI.

 

Leigh Wyman, Freeport, junior pitcher: Wyman has great control and is sneaky fast. A first-team Western Maine Conference selection last year, she should be back on top again.
