Fourth- and fifth-grade students, along with volunteer mentors of the Knitting Club at Canal School in Westbrook, once again combined forces to create an afghan, which will be donated to Project Linus. Each student made a square (or more) that was joined together to make this. Like Linus in a comic strip, who was comforted by his blanket, Project Linus strives to do the same and more for children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need. The blankets provide a sense of security, warmth and comfort for the children who receive them. (Courtesy photo)
