BRUNSWICK — Midcoast Youth Theater has announced its summer productions and the auditions to become part of those shows.

The first show is a brand new musical based on an old time favorite, “Winnie the Pooh”! This show will be performed by elementary students. Auditions are Saturday from 1 to 3 and Tuesday from 4 to 6 (pick one date) at Midcoast Performing Arts Center, 4 Pleasant St., Brunswick. Performances will be July 12 to 14 at Orion Performing Arts Center, Topsham. Any child in first to fifth grade is welcome.

Next up is the high school production, “Guys and Dolls.” Auditions have already taken place, but anyone interested should contact the director through the Facebook page or by calling Mike at 233-3899. Show dates are July 26 to 28.

The third show of the summer is a story that takes place on a tropical island and is about how love can bring people together. All middle school students are invited to audition for “Once on This Island.” Auditions will take place on June 7 and 8 from 4 to 6 at Midcoast Performing Arts Center. Show dates will be Aug. 16 to 19 at Orion Performing Arts Center.

“Midcoast Youth Theater is a nonprofit organization that provides an affordable and inclusive musical theater program for community youth in the greater Brunswick area,” states a news release from the organization.

Programming includes five shows a season: family shows in December and April or May and separate elementary, middle and high school shows during the summer. The most recent shows were “Seussical” and “Hello, Dolly!”

All children in grades 1 to 12 are invited. No one is ever turned away.
