WESTBROOK — Saco Street in Westbrook was closed for more than four hours Monday night and more than 1,000 homes lost electrical power after a car hit a utility pole near the intersection of Victoria Street.
Westbrook police said the crash – no injuries were reported – was reported just before 5 p.m. The utility pole was destroyed and had to be replaced by Central Maine Power Company.
CMP reported that about 1,100 customers lost power as a result of the crash. Electrical service was gradually restored to all the affected customers by 8:15 p.m.
Saco Street was reopened to traffic around 9:15 p.m.
